Year Abroad
Overview
The Year Abroad is a key component of all our degree programmes. Currently, students have three different options available to them:
Teaching in a school via the British Council
Studying at a host institution (recommended for Translation and Interpreting students)
Undertaking a work-placement
At the end of the year, you'll have improved your linguistic knowledge of the language(s) that you study; you'll also have learnt a huge amount about the cultures behind those languages; finally, you'll also develop hugely as an individual as well. For more language-specific information, please download our Year Abroad brochures via the following links. You'll also find testimonials from current and past students further down the page.
Please note that the information above is for illustrative purposes only. Our Year Abroad partners and arrangements are subject to a regular annual review and can and do change from one year to another.
Featuring Holly Trainor (Modern Languages: French and Spanish), this webinar gives an overview to Global Study opportunities and everything that they add to your university experience and wider career prospects.
