Student Internships

Dr Federico Lopez-Terra was delighted to be awarded funding for two student interns in the second semester of 2023-24. Funded through Swansea University's SPIN - Swansea Paid Internship Network - scheme, these students will be taking control of our social media and dragging us into the 21st Century through TikTok, Instagram, and all manner of digital wizadry! First and foremost, however, they will be conducting video interviews with both research groups and individual members of staff to showcase and highlight everything that we offer our students. And, importantly, whilst these internships are of course paid, the skills gained by the students taking part are invaluable for their future careers! Here's what one intern had to say:

"This experience has been invaluable in shaping my professional journey. From crafting engaging social media content to coordinating recording sessions and interviews, I've had the opportunity to dive deep into various facets of marketing strategy. Moreover, being part of a collaborative team has fostered my communication and teamwork abilities, allowing me to thrive in a environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged.

Overall, this internship has not only expanded my understanding of marketing principles but also instilled in me a newfound confidence to tackle challenges head-on. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a supportive and enriching environment."

Speaking of the project, Dr Lopez-Terra said:

"The marketing and publicity project has been an inspiring journey, showcasing not only the power of creativity and collaboration, but also the initiative and resourcefulness of our students. Witnessing our interns develop essential skills and contribute innovative ideas has been truly rewarding. This project exemplifies the potential for growth and impact when passion meets dedication."
