Swansea Fringe

I never thought that I could show up to the Swansea Fringe Festival 2022 and have a professional guitarist support me. As a music enthusiast with a limited musical background, I went through a massive culture shock when first facing the thriving live music industry here.

Shortly after the 2022 Airshow, I made my first amateur live music appearance in Swansea. Since then, I have always been on the lookout for gig opportunities.

More recently, I received an invitation to perform at the biggest annual music event in Swansea. The preparation was painful, as I was already juggling multiple jobs alongside my studies. But it was also so much fun - I developed a strong bond with my guitarist friend and the time I spent practicing with him was one of the most memorable times I've had in the ten months I've been living in Swansea. Surprisingly and unexpectedly, the show was a huge success! 

I'm proud of how quickly I've adapted myself to the new musical mode and environment, how bravely I've stepped up on the same stage along with so many professional and talented local musicians, and how successfully I've managed to balance and multitask my studies, work, and hobbies! Lesson learned: never underestimate your potential!
