Entrepreneurial Workshops

Empowering our language students: entrepreneurial workshops

In order to equip undergraduate and postgraduate students with practical skills and insights into entrepreneurship, the staff of Modern Languages, Translation and Interpreting recently organised two dynamic workshops in cooperation with the Enterprise team lead by Kelly Jordan. These sessions were designed to support students looking to work as a freelancer and to provide them with guidance on navigating the world of business.

The first workshop, titled How to start your own Business, focused on the essentials of product development, offering a comprehensive introduction to the foundational aspects of entrepreneurial endeavours. Following this, students were treated to a Startup Business Workshop featuring the expertise of serial entrepreneur Chris Miller. Attendees gained invaluable insights into effective market research techniques, brand building strategies, customer acquisition methods, pricing strategies, and the subsequent steps involved in establishing themselves as self-employed individuals.

These workshops not only offered practical knowledge but also fostered a sense of empowerment and possibility among students, encouraging them to explore entrepreneurial avenues with confidence and determination.
